Truth Exposed: 

Leviticus 24:1-4 is a beautiful foreshadowing of our spirit-life in the N.T.  The symbolism is breathtaking.  Jesus told us that we are the light of the world.  To be this light we must have “oil” in our lamps, which are our spirits.  The lamps are in the temples, our bodies.  We, the royal priesthood, must tend the lamps daily so that the flames will never go out, they must burn perpetually.  The pure oil is the Holy Spirit; we cannot shine our light without him.  We must always be faithful in our attendance of our spiritual lives so that we may be able to pierce the spiritual darkness around us.
