Truth Exposed: AHITHOPHEL
In the beginning, Ahithophel was one of King David’s trusted advisors, 1 Chronicles 27:33, but at some point, he went over to Absalom, who had made himself king of Israel. We read about him in 2 Samuel 16:15 – 17:23. Just a handful of verses is given to this man, but pride, anger, and revenge were his motivation. Why? 2 Samuel 23:34 and 2 Samuel 11:3 tells us that Ahithophel was Bathsheba’s grandfather. And David committed adultery with Bathsheba and disgraced the family name. Yet, in the end, revenge killed Ahithophel. Beware of hatred and revenge.
