Truth Exposed: Moses
Hebrews 11:24-26 gives us a magnificent glimpse into the character and faith of Moses. (see Moses’s kin for a little family background.) He was raised in opulent luxury, yet he threw it all away. He gave up his identity as a royal to be known as a Hebrew. He chose the indignity of being humble and ostracized with enslaved people rather than live in blatant sin in a royal palace. He chose to be physically disgraced rather than spiritually lost. Wealth, possessions, power, the world at your command, are incredible lures as opposed to humbleness and faith. Moses overcame the temptations of the world for something far greater than he could ever imagine. Being like Moses makes us more like Jesus than we really know.
