Truth Exposed:   Assimilation

In Daniel 1:4-7 we read where Daniel and the “3 amigos” were taken to Babylon and given new identities: change of food, change of language; change of name.  They were to be assimilated into Babylonian culture.  In Deuteronomy 21:12-13 we read the same thing when an Israelite man took a foreign woman for a wife.  In the same way, when we become True Believers, our names are changed to “child of God,” Galatians 3:26, 1 John 3:1; our clothing is changed from the world’s fashion to “God’s closet,” Colossians 3:12, Romans 13:14, Ephesians 4:24; Ephesians 4:29; we are given a new language, Ephesians5:4, Hebrews 13:15,  Colossians 3:16; and we are given a new diet, Psalm 81:16,  Deuteronomy 8:8,  Matthew 4:4,  Psalm 119:103.  With our salvation we are assimilated into the Kingdom of Heaven; we are no longer people of the world, but we have become citizens of heaven.
