Truth Exposed: Gifts
Give/given means “to put into the possession of someone; to gift.” John 10:29 tells us that God gave us to Jesus; we were put into his possession as a gift. John 18:9 repeats this. We, True Believers, are God’s gift to Jesus in the same way that Jesus is God’s gift to us in John 3:16. When we give a gift to someone, we take care in picking it out, so that it will please the receiver. So too, with God and us. We were chosen with care and thought to be presented to Jesus. Deuteronomy 7:6. Purposely. With great intention. No mistake. And Jesus treasures his gifts. Do we treasure our gift the same way?
