Truth Exposed: Glorify
John 17 is the High Priestly prayer of Jesus before he went to the Garden. Verse 5 starts with “glorify me.” Glorify in the Greek, doxazo, means to “praise, extol, magnify, celebrate, honor, lift up.” Jesus is asking to be elevated to the place he had “before the world was.” He did what his Father asked him to do, now he wanted to go home. He remembered his life before there was life. Give me back what I gave up. He is also asking of us to give him what is due him, doxazo, to glorify him.
