Truth Exposed:  

The first several chapters of Genesis hold a deep fascination for me; I find God’s grace and mercy all over the text.  One verse that has always thrilled me is in Gen 4:7:  “. . . sin is crouching at your door and desires to have you, but you must master it.”  The first command to man outside the garden.  God already knew Cain was planning evil, and so he warned him.  He.  Warned.  Him.  Grace and mercy.  A warning of evil and a directive on how to deal with it.  The evil is here but you are the master; what are you going to do?  Nothing has changed over the millennia.   We still face the same problem.  The same God is still counseling and directing us.  And we still have a choice to make.
