Truth Exposed:  

Deuteronomy 20:16-18 is a physical description of how we are to attend to our spiritual life: take no prisoners.  Throughout the Books of Moses, the Lord has spoken this over and over and over:  take no prisoners.  Kill off the sin completely.  Anything that we repeatedly continue to do again and again that is against the word of the Lord is an idol in our lives and must be annihilated completely.  Otherwise, we will be like the world, pagan.  We will do detestable things and sin against God.  The word says, “completely destroy them, do not leave anything that breaths (has life).”  We are in a war, grab your gear from Galatians 6:10-18 and prepare for battle.
