Truth Exposed: Offenses
We offend our Lord in 3 ways: 1) sinning, 2) transgressions, and 3) iniquity. James 1:14-15, 4:17, is sinning without premeditation. Mark 11:25, Psalm 51:1-5 speak of transgressions, the willfulness, the continuing of a sinful act. Isaiah 59:2, Proverbs 5:22, Psalm 66:18, iniquity, purposely turning from God, not caring about the Lord or the consequences. Unconfessed sin leads to transgressions, which then lead to iniquity. The progression must be noted. 1 John 1:9, James 5:16, and Proverbs 28:13. Confession and repentance heals us.
