Truth Exposed: Anger
We have been taught, and rightly so, that anger is sin and leads to other sins, such as rage and violence. But that’s not the whole truth. There is also righteous anger; this is anger directed at the sin itself. Ephesians 4:26 cautions us on righteous anger: deal with it and be done. Don’t dwell on it and let it fester, that will only lead to sin. In John 2:13-17, Jesus clears out the Temple; he is angry with the sin of extortion and cheating. Righteous anger. We must be careful with our anger; is it righteous or self-righteous?
