Truth Exposed: Joy
What is joy? It is the 2nd fruit of the Spirit, Gal 5:22, and it is born out of love. The world definition of joy is “a feeling of great pleasure and happiness,” yet joy and happiness are not the same. The biblical definition of joy comes from the Greek chara, which means “calm delight” and the Hebrew means “gladness.” Big difference from dictionary.com. Nehemiah 8:10 says the joy, (the gladness and calm delight) of the Lord is my strength.
