Truth Exposed:  

Paul warns us about pride in Philippians 2:3; Galatians 5:19-21; and James in James 3:16.  Pride robs us of our inheritance, it steals our spirit, it destroys our relationships, and it separates us from God.  In Isaiah 14:12-14 Lucifer said he would be like God, and he lost his exalted position in heaven. The serpent told Eve she would be like God, and her relationship with God was destroyed in Genesis 3:5.  Simon the Sorcerer in Acts 8:9-24 lost his ministry due to his pride.  In 1 Samuel 25 Nabal refused to feed King David and he lost his life. Many others throughout the bible had terrible downfalls because of pride:  Samson; King Saul; Jezebel; Judas Iscariot; Jonah; Goliath; and the list goes on.  Every sin we commit finds its root in pride, the original sin.  Guard your heart, it is the wellspring of life.
