Truth Exposed:   Everlasting Father

Isaiah 9:6 calls Jesus the Everlasting Father.  Have you ever considered Jesus as the Father?  The literal translation of the Hebrew is “Father of Eternity,” which is perfect as John 1:1–3Colossians 1:16–17 consider him as the architect of eternity, the Creator. As the creator, in Hebrew thought he is considered a Father.  We need a father to create, which makes sense.  We read this Isaiah passage every December and the titles fly right over our heads.  Our English translations leave so very much to be desired.  “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon[a] his shoulder, and his name shall be called[b] Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Father of Eternity, Prince of Peace.”
