Truth Exposed:  cleansing

Exodus 30:20 states that the priests must wash their hands and feet before they go before the Lord, or they would die physically.  Sounds extremely harsh.  The hands and feet represent our works and our walk in life.  To go before the Lord with dirty hands and feet means that our lives are out of order spiritually.  In the N.T. this translates to repentance.  We today cannot go before the Lord with unconfessed sin in our lives or we will also die, spiritually.  Harsh, yes, but God’s holiness and righteousness is demanded of his people.  Without repentance there is no life.  We have been warned.  That’s grace.
