Truth Exposed: Love #2
Philippians 1:8 tells us Paul loved the Philippians with the same love as Christ; the word used is “affection.” Such a gentle word, but the Greek translates it as: “bowels, the seat of violent emotions,” of which love is one of them. God loves us violently! Overwhelmingly, crushingly, smotheringly violent! Paul knew this first-hand because God’s love was so violent for Paul that it literally struck him blind.
