Truth Exposed:  

In Luke 4:19 we read that Jesus is proclaiming “the year of the Lord’s favor.”  What is that?  It is a reference to Leviticus 25:10-13 and Isaiah 61:2 which proclaimed the Jubilee Year, or every 50^th year.  During this year, all debts were forgiven, all the slaves were freed, and all property was returned to the original owner.  Jesus was teaching his death and resurrection would be the spiritual Year of Jubilee for all the world, IF they participated.  All our sin debt would be cancelled and our ancestral home, heaven, was be restored to us.  We would be freed from our slavery to sin and death.  This ROCKS!!  If we don’t understand the O.T. we will never understand the N.T.
