In Exodus 19:8 Moses takes the people’s answer back to God. Why? Isn’t God all-knowing? Psalm 139:4. This was for the benefit of the people. In the O.T. priests and prophets were the go-between God and man and man and God. The curtain in the tabernacle was also in the spiritual, stopping man’s direct access into the Holy of Holies. Moses was the prophet, the messenger, delivering messages from both sides. The death of Jesus removed the curtain, eliminating the need for a spokesperson. Matt 27:50-51, Mark 15:38, Luke 23:45.
