2 Kings 10 is an incredibly tough chapter; murder is everywhere. There is no mercy or compassion. Period. Jehu is taking out the family of Ahab, complete annihilation. Verses 6, 11, 14 & 17 are utterly ruthless. Then in verse 28 we read of the final consequence: the idol worship is eradicated. The moral of the story: be determinedly obsessed with destroying the sin in our own lives: murder the idols. Whatever has replaced the Lord in our lives. Whatever causes us to sin. Take no prisoners. Be merciless. Leviticus 19:2 and 1 Peter 1:16 call us to be like the Lord, different, set apart.
