Truth Exposed: Deceit
2 Samuel 2:1-12 shows us how subtly Absalom worked to gain control of the kingdom. He was kind and sympathetic to the people; he was patient in waiting for his timing to rebel; and he was underhanded in stealing the loyalty of the people. This is a lesson in the tactics of Satan, how he gently caresses us with soft, comforting words and deceitful kisses, all the while luring us into false security. Beware of the “Judas kiss.”
