Truth Exposed:

Ephesians 4:30 tells us not to grieve the Holy Spirit of God.  The Greek word   for ‘grieve’ here means:  “to throw into sorrow.”  Throwing is done aggressively or violently, depending.  Baseball pitchers are aggressive, boxers are violent.  In either case, an object is being hurled at a high rate of speed.  In this context, when we sin against God, we are aggressively, violently, and forcefully causing him to mourn and cry over us.  What an ugly picture this presents!  Yet our Lord takes these attacks from us over and over and over and still, he continues to love us.  Talk about grace and mercy!  Wow!!
