Truth Exposed:

In Numbers 14:23 it tells us that “No one who has treated me with contempt will ever see it (Promised Land).”  What is contempt for the Lord?  Contempt in the Hebrew means to blaspheme, despise, provoke, spurn.  Wow.  Blaspheme is any thought, word, or deed that dishonors God, that diminishes reverence toward him.  To despise the Lord is to have a deep repugnance for him.  We despise him with our lack of faith and trust.  The Israelites did all of this in the desert with their mumbling, grumbling, and constant complaining, therefore they were forbidden the promised land.  We must know the O.T. and learn from the mistakes of the Israelites so that we do not go down the same wrong path.
