Truth Exposed:  

In Mark 11 we read the story of Jesus cursing the fig tree.  In a land where fig trees are as common as apple trees, the disciples would have known instantly what Jesus was saying.  This tree was in full leaf, lush, and beautiful, and it  should have had fruit, but it did not.  It was enticing yet giving off a false message.  He cursed it so that it would never lure  others with a lie.  A very direct warning to us when we are spiritually hungry.  We must check out the tree before we eat of its fruit.  It may be beautiful to the eyes, yet the filling we seek may be completely missing.   Examine carefully the source of your nourishment.
