Truth Exposed:  Obedience #2

In Heb. 5:8 we read that Jesus learned obedience through suffering. It is just incredible to think that Jesus had to learn to be obedient.  Really?  God’s son?  God himself?  We have romanticized scripture to the point that we completely miss the reality of life.  Christ was born HUMAN, so he had to live as a human.  Therefore, trial and error.  There is a grace period from birth to the age of accountability where we learn right from wrong.  Jesus went through this the same as any child.  He probably had his fingers smacked more than once for trying to touch something he shouldn’t.  We never think of him having to learn how to feed himself, write, read, grow, be obedient.   He experienced EVERYTHING common to man.  Everything.  In reading the gospels we need to remember the Lord’s humanity superseded his divinity while he was on earth.
