In Acts 4:5-6, Peter and John are brought before the Jewish Council for the “crime” of speaking about Christ.  Peter delivers his dissertation in verses 8-12.  In verse 13, Peter and John are notice for three things:  (1) they were bold;  (2) they were ordinary, uneducated;  (3) they were recognized by the company they kept, namely Jesus.  And in verse 19, Peter declares who he is obedient to in respect to his faith, he is following the directives of Christ:  Mark 16:15Acts 2:38Matthew 28:20; Acts 4:10.  When we are obedient to the will of God, we will automatically be obedient to the law of the land.  These Jewish leaders were not talking about the Law, but their own sensibilities.
