Truth Exposed: Worship #2
We are conditioned, through attitudes and direct confrontation, by the churches we attend on proper worship etiquette: some only have organs; some no instruments; some are very solemn; some have full bands; some only sing slow, solemn hymns; some sit in the dark; others not so; some wave flags; and so many other things. Personally, I have been in churches where I have been told “we don’t do that in this church.” What does the bible say about how to worship?
- Kneeling - Psalm 95:6
- Raised Hands - Psalm 141:2, 1 Timothy 2:8
- Bowing - Psalm 5:7
- In bed - Psalm 4:4
- On the Ground - Matt 26:39
- Standing - Mark 11:25
- Dancing - Psalm 150:4
- Singing - Hebrews 2:12
- Instruments - Psalm 150:1-6
- Clapping - Psalm 47:1
- Crying and laughing - Luke 7:38; Psalm 126:1-2
How we worship is a reflection of how we feel about the Lord. If we are worshiping the Lord in spirit and in truth, if our hearts are with him and we are truly adoring him, no posture is wrong if led by the Holy Spirit. Follow him and rejoice!!
