Truth Exposed:   Witchcraft

In 1 Samuel 15:23 it describes stubbornness and rebellion as the same thing as witchcraft. 

 

Rebellion:  reflects a heart attitude that resists God’s sovereignty. Proverbs 17:11

Stubbornness: involves a firm resistance toward divine instruction and correction. Romans 2:5

Pride:  inordinate self-esteem : conceit. Proverbs 16:5

Witchcraft:  contact with evil spirits. Leviticus 20:6

 

Evil spirits encourage disobedience to the Lord, thus the connection with witchcraft.  Rebellion and stubbornness are equally sins of pride, which is all about me and what I want, and all of them can be idols in our lives if left to flourish.  The Lord God takes this extremely seriously, and so should we.  There is no such thing as a little sin with God.  Death is the punishment for sin and rebellion. Leviticus 20:27, Galatians 5:20, Revelation 21:8
